Why the convention matters
Vietnam recognises International Driving Permits issued under the 1968 Vienna Convention. Many countries still issue permits under the older 1949 Geneva Convention, and those are not accepted on their own for riding in Vietnam.
Which motorbike class do you need?
Bikes under 125cc require a Class A1 endorsement, larger bikes a full Class A. The class on your permit should match the licence you hold at home — check it before you fly.
No valid permit? You still have options
If your paperwork is not right, switch to an Easy Rider or Jeep tour. You will see exactly the same roads, and we can change your booking right up to departure morning.
